What is Talk to Retail?

Talk To Retail is designed to be a conduit, getting insights from sales people and management back to brand owners like LG, Panasonic, Electrolux, Fisher & Paykel, Samsung, Miele etc.

Some manufacturers are great at helping sales people to move stock. The product is good, they train staff and advertise to build foot traffic.

Great suppliers up the ante with incentives, competitions and launch day activities to inform and motivate team members. Other organisations make life a chore with poor stock availability, technical support or back up.

We're going to take your feedback to help manufacturers to do right by you and put retail team members in the best position to move product. Everyone wins.

How does Talk to Retail work?

We’ll start out by conducting online surveys to hear your views. Some of the questions may be:

- which company is best to deal with, and why ?

- which company is worst, and why?

- what is the best incentive scheme to motivate you sell a company’s product?

- which company is best at training sales staff?

Etc

Over time, we hope to expand our listening program with focus groups and workshop sessions. We may even ask you to ‘test drive’ ideas before they get launched so manufacturers can get it right more often.

What's in it for me?

We’ll pay for your input to our surveys and focus groups. There will also be prize draws to keep things interesting. In time, we hope to offer a site with the opportunity for salespeople to network, share stories and humour and even post jobs.

This site is owned and run by Catalyst Research. We’re based in Crows Nest and have been doing studies in all sorts of industries for almost 20 years. We’ve had a good experience building a feedback network for Chefs. So we thought we’d give it a trial in retail (our boss’s Dad was a retailer).

Membership is, and always will be, free.

We ask a few questions when you sign up so we can invite the right mix of people to contribute to our activities eg. there might be a survey based on whitegoods, or a focus group for AV specialists.  From time to time we'll share details of our study results with participants so you can stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.

Whatever your level of participation, your input to Talk to Retail will remain anonymous and your details will not be passed on to any third party.
